Cupcakes and Cashmere + Juicy Couture = Perfect Collaboration

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the annual Public Relations and Social Media Summit at Marquette University with my Reeve Marketing crew. Although I learned many many things that day, one of the most interesting discussion topics was about blogging. Lately several large companies are targeting popular bloggers and asking them to write a guest post or a post on their own blog about the brand. In my opinion this is genius because blogs are all about niche topics. The daily readers treasure the blogger’s opinion and will most likely create a positive link between their blog of choice and the brand. Fashion bloggers are increasingly being seen as influential and full of personality, which ultimately gets companies interested.
In the past few months Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere has teamed up with Juicy Couture to create a series of short videos for her blog. What makes this combination so incredibly perfect? The target markets are exactly the same. Both the Cupcakes and Cashmere blog and Juicy Couture products are made for young, hip girls who love fashion. Juicy Couture made a smart move because the Cupcakes and Cashmere blog receives over 300 comments per post. The cute video blogs were all strategically under a minute long. Each video (there were three total) got over 55,000 views.
